A long distance running event on the Larapinta Trail? Plenty of people have seen the opportunity for such an event and it was only a matter of time before an entrepreneurial person or organisation took on the challenge. Rapid Ascent has come to the party and are holding their inaugural ‘Run Larapinta’ Stage Race in August 2016. That’s right on the back of their ever popular MTB stage race which was formally known as the Ingerreke MTB Enduro, but is now called simply ‘The Redback’; it will be held in August also. There’s already talk of competitors signing up for both events!
Rapid Ascent do a fantastic job of organising these events and show casing central Australia to an enthusiastic interstate audience. We look forward to seeing both events flourish and help to reinforce the reputation the red centre is gaining as an outdoor enthusiasts heaven in the desert.
